I am debating getting a Puma in 357 But am still leary about its ability of it properly feeding 38's .My learyness comes from 10 yrs ago when my last 357 levergun was a marlin and was a jam o matic with about everything except with a 357 case and a RN boolit .( I hated that rifle) So to the folks that have them how do the 38's feed ? even if you dont work the action a warp speeds? this wont be for cowboy shoots just casual plinking but would like the option to use just bout any boolit style I want short of a full wadcutter in 38 or 357 cases.

My Marlin 357 cycles 38 specials well. It wasn't quite as smooth as 357's until I made some changes. I starter moving the bullets further out in the 38 cases and things improved greatly. When I started using the 180 grain cast bullets the 38's could be ran at the same OAL as a standard 357 with the 158. There is still plenty of volume in the case for you to push the projectiles at what velocity you want.

I've shot a Puma (Rossi) '92 and it fed RNFP 38spls slick as could be... as well as 357's. Even 38 SWC Keith styles fed without any problems.

Mine feels them great. Actually it will feed swc's in both, but they don't inspire confidence in the 357 cases, but feed slicker than frogsnot in the 38 cases.

Mine feeds WFN in .38 cases well and RN or SWC effortlessly. I have a full power JSP .357 load but haven't worked up a cast load in magnum cases so I can't comment on that. Mine is an older Interarms Puma and I like it alot. My only gripes are the long chamber with a funnel for a throat and the slooow twist. The Lee 358 RNFP and Lyman CB shoot very well - 1" at 50 yds. with plinking loads.

Mine are all the older Rossi make, but feed 38 specials perfectly. Mine will group 38's under 2" at 100 yards if you can hold em.

I have had no problems feeding 38 Specials in my puma 357. The only thing it won't feed is flush wad cutters, even these can be single fed from the top, with 1.8 gr. of bulls eye they just go "woosh" out of the rifle.
