A friend has a .454 Casull and wants to use my equipment to reload for his revolver. I reload .45 Colt and have shellplates for both the Dillon XL-650 & the Hornady Pro-Jector. Are the case head dimensions of .45 Colt and .454 Casull the same? Big Boomer

I use the same shell holder to load them both on my single stage press. Same thing as the 38/357 and 44special/mag. Well, except the the casull uses small rifle primers.

Thanks Southpaw. Except for the Dillon, I always seat the primers with a Lee hand priming device. The Dillon, of course, requires the change from large to small primer but that is no big deal. I also understand that the Casull uses a small rifle magnum primer. Big Boomer

yeah they tend to make life miserable on a 650 when a 454 case gets mixed in with the 45 colt cases.
be careful.
