No idea where to put this thread. Buddy bought it from a women in Alaska who used for bear protection. He has no idea on caliber, model, etc.

Any idea on gun/value?

A sulphur cast of the chamber will help if there are no visible caliber markings...stock looks like a milspec swede mauser??

Because of the shape of the rear cocking piece, I would say that is a sporterized Swedish Mauser, originally in 6.5x55 Swedish. Not a bad choice for bear protection for somebody who doesn't want to go looking for them, but is recoil sensitive.

It could be a Model 95 in 7x57. The Model 96 Swede looks the same.

I agree with the Swedish Mauser, the cocking piece is different than the 95's.

Turned down bolt and Leupold type base and rings, what safety is used? I also cannot see a trigger in the picture.

Value? Without actually holding it I am going to say $150.00 for the bubba special.

by the cocking piece she is Swedish. the 150 to 200 price is right. depends on the scope and how bad you need a rifle and how many are sitting around. the 6.5 x 55 with heavy bullets will do the job on bears.

That's one swede rifle you have there! Prices so far are about right and if it's still in 6.5X55 it's a swell deer rifle.
