We're going to make a trip down to Shreveport LA to visit family. I always wanted to hunt pigs. I've done a little research and the found the following "Wild boar can be found in almost all of the north-western parts of Louisiana." Shreveport is in the NW part of the state and I would like help finding a place to hunt. If anyone can help me figure out where to go I would greatly appreciate it. I've never been to the area.

I found the following areas:
Cypres Bayou Resivoir - can't determine if there is hunting there

Lake Bistineau State Park - Website says "The 4,211 acres of alluvial flood plain or bottomland hardwoods offer hunting, fishing, birding, day hiking, a boat launch, and designated camping areas." Are pigs roaming this area?

Bodcau WMA - Website lists hunting but there is no specific mention of pigs. Is there hunting permitted or and are their pigs in this location?

Are any of the above places good for hog hunting...or are there other areas that I am missing?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

(Of course I plan to take the Ruger 77 in 358Win and the 44mag 1894 as back-up. Only cast boolits pass through my firearms.)

Pigs love bottomland, safe bet they're there and the folks that manage WMA's are eager for you to shoot them. A phone call will probably confirm that.

Go up a little to Mississippi and hunt hogs 24/7, 365. Just pick a spot. They're everywhere.
