Just a note- I saw this someplace and haven't seen it since.

For making 303 Savage brass a guy says rather than 220 Swift, what I use, he uses 307 Winchester. Never tried it but the SAAMI drawings he showed make it look like the best idea.

I have made 303 brass from 220 swift. It isn't the easiest thing to do but if you have the tools and a little info you can do it .I have some I bought from Buffalo Arms that is made from 30/40 craig. With the Swift brass you must turn the necks. With the Craig brass you need to reduce the rim and in both you must cut the cases to a shorter length. If you have the means to turn the rim I would say the 30/40 brass is easier.Good Luck,Jeff Taylor.

Huh. With my Swift brass neck turning hasn't been needed. Must be my '99 is a bit looser than yours. With mine it was full length resize in 1 pass to 303 dimensions, trim to length and fire form/plink with the RCBS 30-180FN an 27 gr 3031, almost a full power load. No big deal.

Huntingtons.com has .303 Savage brass, by Norma no less. Its pricy, about $1 each, but Norma makes very good cases and its better than forming your own. - CW
