Ever notice how certain brand lock rings hit the big washer on top of the Spar-T? Is there any reason I couldn't take the washer and turn it down a bit so all my rings would work?

Nope! Never had that problem. Lymans, RCBS, Redfield and Lee have all been OK.
My washers are 1.40"max. Don't know what you've got that's giving you grief but IIWM I'd reduce the Dia. No sweat.
I do , or used to , have problems with lock rings on the SparT, but it was the rings themselves. I switched to all Lee rings.

Great! I think it's the Forster rings giving me problems. I have a lot of them.

FWIW Bret, I had the same problem and did what PepeRay did. The Lee rings are inexpensive and work fine. You could turn down the washer and it would likely work fine, the larger diameter probably contributes a bit to the stability of the die head, but I suspect thats to a degree that is almost unmeasureable. I like those old Spar-t's, have a pair of them set up for 2 calibers each, now if I just had enough space to have both presses on the bench at the same time............
