I have several boxes of 500, but you would have to pull them. lol

I have seen (I think) where someone made a mold of the right design, but don't remember where.

doclove,

You may want to take a look at the thread listed below. I briefly glanced over it (getting ready for work and only have a minute or two). Hopefully, it can give you some ideas. Good luck with your project.

David Mos made some molds. At least one of the members here has one and is using it for loading BP into .22 shells with an original design bullet. Try searching for black powder .22 loading.

As far as commercially available, I'm afraid I'm not aware of any.

If you buy mine, you will never get low on primed cases. lol

I recently acquired a new production Lyman 225438 DC mould which casts a 41 grain GC style RN. That's what I had to do to work toward subsonic and SV loads in a Hornet. The project seems to be coming along nicely.

They are heeled. A custom maker would probably cut one for you.

In my humble opinion you will be better served by reloading something like troll suggests. 22 Hornet, 218 bee, 25-20, etc. Even a 30-30 can be down loaded and can be used to dispatch small game without blasting them to bits. In some kind of dooms day scenario, this advice still makes more sense than gearing up to load a 22LR.

When the market comes back buy a few thousand keep them on hand. When dooms day hits, target shooting, game shooting, sport hunting like we have today would be non existent. Ten or fifteen 22 shells would probably last you a year or more if you were saving them while living off the land.

Take care

I have the Mos mold, and load BP .22's for use in our smallbore lever rifle silhouette matches. Casting little 40 grainers takes enough effort that I'd hate to be casting any more than what I use every month. I bought one of the last cases of empty primed Armscor .22's available in the country. Once my 5000 runs out, I'll be there with the rest of you - scrounging bricks of 22's to keep shooting...
