I'll start with Lee Molds, and Lyman. If ya can provide mold numbers it would be appreciated. I do realize that everyone has there own preference, and they can be 2,4 or 6 cavity molds.

If I've forgotten to add other popular calibers let me know. They don't have to be Lee molds, I'm interested In Lyman, Rcbs, likewise. These are all my guns, and I want to have a mold for each one if them . I've have several molds already, but I'd like to compare .
Thank You Fellas, you've been good to me .:cbpour:

These are my guns, but I might have some buddies that use others that I might cast bullets for. It makes for a good trade off deal , lol

I have bout all those rifles and an assortment of molds to go with them.
my 30-30's and 30-06 really like the rcbs 30-150 fngc over all my other 30 cal molds combined.
my 45 acp's have done well with 5-6 different molds including molds designed for the 45 colt.
the lyman 452460 is the main one I use right now, but i don't hesitate to use a 225 rnfp if that's what is cast up at the moment.
I don't have a 380 so i'm not much help but the lee 100 grainer would be one i'd look at if I did have one.
I have used a few different molds in my 9m's ranging from the magma 124rn to the magma 125 rnfp for the 38 special [at .095 oal] to the new HM-2 125gr mold I just got.
i'd stay away from the lee 124gr t/l boolit though it's a popular thread starter on 9m leading.

I don't have a 40 but the LEE 200 gr t/c type boolit seems popular not the t/l one though.

for the 357 my favorite is a 158gr rnfp by either lyman or rcbs I like either one in my lever guns and revolvers it's my go-to, even though I have 5-6 other molds I occasionally mess about with the lyman 358477 is my go-to for accuracy in the revolvers at target velocity's.

I have neither a 270 nor a 300 blackout so i'm no help on those.
I had worked on a boolit design for the 300 b/o with J.T. for a new HM-2 design but it got voted out for the Ed Harris designed lee boolit.

in my ar's I use the rcbs 22-055s [I slightly modified my mold] a lot, and have been working slowly with the new HM-2 mold in my 7 twist stag 6-H and in my other 22 cal bolt guns the
223,22-250 and 220 swift.

You know, I too love the 357446, but to a lot of shooters, it just seems too "old school" and gets overshadowed by 358156 and 358477/RCBS 38-150-KT..... Odd to me since it is just a great all-around weight and design......

Your right Max. My favorite molds are my Lyman, and they chunk some pretty bullets. I don't mind a Lee mold now that I know how to take care of them , but even then those boogers will fail on ya, but the price is right.

Most popular for the 5.56/.223 AR15Hey Mt, I really appreciate that useful information sir ! The Ly 368242 9mm 125 gr. mold you were suggesting, is that an older mold that they no longer make any longer?
Thanks again

No that is a late night fat finger typo. 358242 just as the 358156 is the correct 357 boolit. Thanks.

I like MT Gianni's choices. For 100% reliable feeding in every .45 ACP I've loaded for I'd pick Lyman 452374. Also IMHO the Lyman 401654 is a better than the Lee 401-175-TC if you are using a Lone Wolf barrel for 40 SW.

.45 Auto: H&G 68 or good clone, 452460 is close second, MP 200 HP Rn is superb, too.
.38 Spl/.357: 357429 or 357477 or RCBS 38-150-SWC (old K)
9mm: Lee 356 120 TC conventional lube

No solid winners on most others. I would expect .38 Auto work well with the Lee 9mm boolit,
since I size to .357 or .358 anyway.

30-30 I like the 311-419 for light plinkers, and the RCBS 30-180 FN for the real deal, however, there are at least a dozen molds that give great service, including the 311-291, the 311-466, the 311-041, the 311-440, the RCBS 30- 150 FN. It is harder to pick a bad one than to find a good one.

My favorites are:

9mm H&G #275 09-125-SWCBB (H&G six cavity mould)

38 Auto Saeco #929 38S-145-SWCBB (four cavity mould) also Saeco #930 38S-154-SWCBB (Wilson design eight cavity mould, actually drops 158 grains in my alloy)

40 S&W Lyman # 401638 40-175-TCBB (four cavity mould)

45 ACP H&G #68 45-200-SWCBB (two eight cavity moulds)

Been doing alot of shooting and testing with .357 magnum revolver. The Lyman (358665) or RCBS (82305) 158gr Cowboy boolits shoot better than my RCBS 150gr Keith design (82032). The RCBS Cowboy mould is veryeasy to cast with. The Lyman is a little trickier. I have used many different alloys with these boolits, all alloys seem to work good sized to .3575

The 30 cal RCBS 150gr Cowboy boolit (82302) has plain base and shoots better than my gas checked designs in my 30-30 Winchester. I use lintype alloy with this small diameter boolit and Trail Boss powder for 1010fps . 5744 powder.

The RCBS 500 gr BPS (82085) is very accurate in my Browning 1885 High Wall BPCR 45/70. I use soft 1-20 alloy with Black Powder.

The RCBS 405 gr (82053) is a gas check design and shoots verywell in my Marlin Guide Gun 45/70. I use 1-20 alloy because it mushrooms nicely.5744 powder.

I like RCBS because of their great Warranty service, but occasionally even they make a bad mould. Dull cutter for example.
