What is a good bullet mold Lyman or RCBS for a Old Rem Rolling Block 7mm?

Model 1902 saddle carbine, 7mm mauser, barrel worn but shootable. would be used both for target shooting and deer hunting.

Was thinking of the Lyman 160gr. ?

Probably going to need a bullet .287". I suggest, short of going to a custom mould, would be to find an older Lyman or Ideal 287405 or the original RCBS 28-168-FN. Both are Loverin designs and will give the best results in your RB. If you don't mind a PB'd cast and keeping velocities under 1400 fps or so you might also look for the Lyman or Ideal 287221. It's a FN Loverin design that came in 90, 105, 120, 135, 150, 165 and 175 gr weights. All should cast out at .287+ with the correct alloy. Pictured is the original RCBS 28-168-FN.83845

Many of the older Ideals will cast out much larger as Lyman #1 alloy (and Cu in it) was the preferred alloy back then. That alloy cast out much smaller "as cast" with #1 alloy than it does with #2 alloy.

that rcbs 28-168 is as scarce as hen's teeth, you might see if someone that has this mold will sell you some "as cast".
