I found a JUKER 50 cal an was wondering what the twist was. The owner ( a gunsmith ) said that he "thought that it was a 1 in 66. Does this sound right? He told me that it shot PRB preety good because he used to hunt with it. He has a 45 that he uses now (also a JUKER) and he says it is a tackdriver. Any help?

You can determine the twist pretty easily by using a tight fitting patch on a jag and making a mark on the rod to determine when it has rotated half way or even a complete revolution.

pillow ticking for patches, lube of your choise, .495 roundball, 70 grains of 2f black, dont tamp, they only do that in the movies. clean with one quite damp patch and two dry between shoot. clean good when you put it away, after you cleaned good clear the breach of fouling and moisture by snapping several cap on the empty gun. then wipe out the soot untill clean with dry patches. put away untill next time. buy a very stiff or make a very stiff range rod with a handle and use that to clean with, makes it easier. have fun

More info would help. What kind of Jukar, Kentucky, Hawkin or what but 1-66 was real common with them and is probably what it is.
