Has anyone thought of, or are actually doing it, making lube using lard? Pork fat, that is. Might keep the Muslim extremists from entering their version of heaven, and if they knew what we were shooting, might give them pause. Seems like 50/50 lard/alox might be just fine for .45/.40/.38 Special boolits...

Yes it is part of an Anti terrorism lube. The extremist are afraid to use it if they capture or steal it. It also works just by shooting over their heads, pork particles are everywhere.
It is also used in Buck Emmerts black powder lube recipe.

it's much softer than tallow per say and more like a oil , 50/50 would be a bit much in my humble opinion , somewhere between 25 to 40 %-ish should work
but a word of caution , bacon grease should be refined/rendered to remove the salt and if one goes to buy lard in the package look for the unsalted kind

vegetable oils and others like olive oil does have a tendency to make a lube go softer and softer over time then finally dry out and become somewhat brittle falling out of the lube grooves.

My favorite lube is bee’s wax/olive oil BUT if the loaded boolits don't get shot up in a timely manner. I've had lube weep onto the nose of boolits (loaded ammo stored nose down) that has been stored for over 2 years. This is ammo stored in a basement that never excessed 75*. Great lube in low FPS rifle and all pistol ammo used with but it does need shot up in a timely manner.

That answered many of my questions. I guessed lard/alox/JW in equal amounts would be stiff enough to last a reasonable time, but the animal nature of the lard would cause some deterioration.
My thought was that the threat of not getting to heaven would be enough to cause the more extreme Muslims to decide they couldn't afford to be as active against us infidels, if they wished to have all those virgins &cetera.

I would be concerned about the salt left in the barrel from bacon fat or any cured pork.
