I learned something important today that I should have already known. Let this be a helpful hint for all the new swaggers out there(including me).

Always make sure the container that you are annealing things in has a higher melting temperature than the thing that you are annealing. It doesn't work very well to anneal brass in a aluminum pan.

I hope this helps someone avoid the frustration that I just experienced.

Thanks for the advice. Sorry to hear about the lesson you had to learn the hard way.

I didn't loose too many. I was standing over the pan when I started seeing de-rimmed 22s disappearing. I grabbed the pan(old kitchen pan with a handle) off of the fire and only lost about 50.

So, if I want to put a bunch of uniformly spaced sub quarter inch holes in an aluminum pan, I can stand 22 shells in it and just add heat?
Sounds faster than drilling. ;-)
