I have looked High and low to no avale, (saw one started but can not find it now)

I have a Mielic Hunting Boolit 30cal. Hollow Point and have the Larger HP Pin Installed
I think there about 160gn w/large HP (have yet to weigh them as I am still trying to find what others have done.)
I want to load a 30-30 marlin leaver, and a 3006 Bolt gun, for white tail deer

I have Powders 700-x, Longshot, AA Super Handycap, Blue Dot, IMR-4198,
and very Small amounts of powders like --> Benchmark, Win 760, 2400, VihtaVuori N-133 & N-530 and a bit of Tin-Star,
has anyone use any of these powders to load with?

Should say to Load this Hunting Boolit with??
sorta wanted to get going with this but don't know and dont have a recipe to work from
Please advise what your doing and what you may have done, in an effort to save time and money and get a sound load for my needs,,

Thanks for any help you may Give

In 30-30 start around 14 gr of 2400 and work up to 16 gr. should be fine to 100 yards for whitetails.

Same powder starting at 17 and worked up to 22 gr in the '06.

I like 2400 in rifles with cast. Not a speed champ but it works well in the 1600 to 1800 fps range.

I don't know enough about Vv133 to say but I bet Benchmark would be good too. Can't suggest loads, don't have enough data to recommend things for others with that one.

Patrick,
From what I know, or at least I think I know, I would probably start with the 4198 in each cartridge. I'm not really familiar with the VV powders, so 4198 is the one which you have that I recognize. In the 30-30 Lyman says start at somewhere around 18 grs for velocity of about 1,600 fps and work up to about 24grs for a little over 2,000 fps. I'm interpolating here a bit as they show a 150 and 170 gr bullet but no 160 and I'm also not sure exactly what your bullet weighs in your alloy. In the '06 they say to start around 27 grs for a velocity of approximately 1,940 fps and work up to 37 grs for an approximte velocity of 2,400 if your rifle and alloy can stand it. This is with a 160gr bullet.
Hope this helps some, and good luck,
Rick

Yes it would be safe to use published data for those bullets. Do start somewhere on the lower end or middle and work up or down as needed.
Good Luck,
Rick

the 311041 data would be a good start.
benchmark, 760, and 2400 will all give good results.
the benchmark & 760 may like a bit of Dacron filler to really settle down and shoot accurately.

I've had extremely good luck in 30-30 and 30-06 with the 311041 and 2400. In the 30-30 17 grs gets me 1700 fps. 20 grs gets me the same in the 06. My alloy is pretty soft, 2 parts lead and one part WW. I've killed a few deer and coyotes and have seen no reason to look for better performance.
