I managed to purchase a supply of Tightgroup. My first experience with this propellant. Will be using it initially in 45ACP with Lyman 452460, WW LP and NRA lube to suite my 1911. Life is good.

I like it in the 45. It's like BE but without the smoke!

Tightgroup is my go to powder in straight walled revolver cartradges for loads under 1,100 fps .
It also works excellent in the 45 acp im using 4.5 gr with excellent accuracy from my pistols.
I like TG so well i have 2 unopned 8 lb jugs and im currently still working out of another 8 lb jug. ive been using TG since it came out and for me has replaced Bullseye powder.

That has been my main powder for 10 yrs now in all my pistol loads.

Still testing TG in various pistols so not sure yet. So much to do and so little time.

Titegroup is listed on most burn rate charts as being slightly slower than Bullseye, but I did some chronographing of various .45 ACP loads using identical components (other than powder), and got higher velocities with Titegroup than with the same charge weight of Bullseye.

My thoughts too. I use Tightgroup in anything from 25 acp to 454 casull. Great powder, likes to be loaded hot to be best performing, but be real careful about double or triple charges.

Titegroup is a gem in the 38 Special, but I prefer 231 in the 45ACP.

I also buy Titegroup in 8lb jugs if I can find it, and use it in all my non-magnum pistol carts. Works great even in those big 45 Colt cases with 250s. Don't have chamber pressure testing equipment, but visually pressure seems lower in my 200-230gr 45acp loads with the same boolit and fps than 231. (rounder, less flat primers) Accuracy is the same or better. 231 IS better with 185s in my 1911, 45acp, but I don't have a mold for those....DanM

I like it in the 45. It's like BE but without the smoke!

TG, lead bullets & wax lubes = a lot of smoke, as much or more than BE IME. Pass for use with conventional lubed lead bullets. It is one of the hottest burning powders out there, also has a very small volume per charge wt. It is very easy to dbl charge in the 45acp, be very careful.

Ain't that the truth. My guns got so hot using Titegroup that I ended up switching back to Bullseye.

FWIW, I load 5.9gr of TG with NOE 452-230-hp with plain based gas checks. I know this exceeds "published" data by .5, but I see no signs of excess pressure. Vel is around 950ish.

I use 4.0g TiteGroup with a 200g cast SWC. Works great, low recoil, shoots well in my 1911s.

I'm using Titegroup in my subsonic cast rifle loadings - so far have loads for 308 and 7.62x39.

TG is listed almost EVERY category of cal and slug! I consider it a universal powder for all the cal's I use. I have a good supply of it and really like it.

And it is cleaner than Unique, which seem to be everybody's favorite powder for some reason!

Again, with most powders, light loads will lead to more dirt. That is a given.

I use it for practice loads in 9mm and .38 Special. For stronger loads I prefer Bullseye and Accurate #5. Titegroup burns hot and seems to have more recoil with higher charges.
