Hi,
Whats the story on the forward sling attachment???

There will be a surprise at the end of the thread. ;)

Here's some pics of my work here on another thread.

All filled in and primered. Wet sanding was done between coats 7 times.
The selector lever and linkage were filled in with Marine Epoxy Putty.
The stock ferule was relieved to NM configuration.
Butt Plate was fit and glass bedded.
Seams were all filled in with Bondo.

Hi,
Nice work! I talked with a guy that fought in Iraq with the M-14. He got rid of the SAGE stock and went back to a GI fiberglass as it was handier, lighter and sometimes that made all difference getting in and out of vehicles and engaging asap!

I just got through sanding them and cleaned several times with lacquer thinner.
Looks like the wind refuses to stop blowing. I'll prime tomorrow..........

Duke: really nice looking paintjob on that gun! Hydro dipping? Is that where the camo is like a decal that sits on the surface of the water until you push the item thru it transferring the pattern to the part?

Looks real nice!

Fiberglass GI M-14 Stock with Triple Picatinny Rails and Matching Handguard
The rails are bolted on with Allen Head Cap Screws into T-Nuts and solid as a rock.
This stock has all the seams and voids filled, primered and wet sanded several times and then painted OD Green. The former sling swivel depression is also filled and level thus following the contour of the stock forend.

Click on pics for larger view.

As you can see here the Picatinny Side Rails I machined down to be parallel with the axis of the rifle bore for lasers and lights.
