Does anyone know of a case trimmer that will fit the 577/450? Any experience with the Lyman accutrim? I see that it use conventional shell holders so I thought it might work. Thoughts?

Yes, you can get a 577/450 case trimmer from Forster.
It is a semi-custom job that may take a few weeks for them to modify for you.
I got one from them over 10 years ago, and I may have neen the first, as I furnished fired cases for them to use in modifying the trimmer for me.
The only down side to this, is that it is a 577/450 only case trimmer.

Wilson will make you just about anything. Just send them a fired case or a sized case and they will make the case holder that fits the trimmer.

If a trimmer will acept standard shell holders and trim the 45-70 it will work for the 577-450 MH.The 577 Snider is a diffrent thing, as as fare as I know now one makes a cutter large enough for this cartridge,I wish they did

Wilson will a cas. as large as a 50 BMG.
Just call them and tell them what you need and they will make the case holder you need for your 577/450.
In my opinion Wilson makes the best and most accurate trimmer plus they have the most accesories you can get for it.

Thanks for the useful replies. I have a Forster Classic trimmer that I use when forming .43 Beaumont from 50/90 brass. I will contact Forster.

Well despite what I said I ended up just buying a Lyman Accutrimmer. It was $53 at Amazon shipped and I had it in a few days. It works great. It uses the regular case holder and it locks in tight. The 45 trimming guide post fits perfectly. Now, if I could only get a fatter blade I could trim .577.

I bought the lee one and it does the job. I am using formed 24 ga, its quite a bit to ask of a trimmer to take off over a 1/4 of an inch. I mark them and cut off the majority carefully with a dremmel, then finish it with the lee tool. Even bought a new cutter with the ball on it vs borrowing the one from the end of my press handle.

I use the Lee one, works fine in the cordless drill.

A 7/8 14 bolt cut to length -1/8" for the shell holder with the right size hole drilled and bored in it in a press and you can use a jewelers saw to cut them to rough length. A piece of pope or tubing they fit into cut to length from face of rim or shell holder can be used as a gage for the Dremel.
