i recently bought a winchester 1885 highwall 45-70 24 inch barrel and added a scope. now i find my scoped rifle cases wont fit it. the gun is too tall for them. ( the scope stays, bad eyes) suggestions? thank you

Try one of the double hard cases. My sharps and hepburn fit much better in those than a single case.

I agree- I gave up on the single gun cases for my 1885's as they are scoped with either Unertl or Lyman scopes, so require double gun cases.

The other plus to the double hard case is there is room for wiping rods and other odds and ends in there with the rifle.

I have one for these for my long stuff.
The bolt gun clears the end by a 1/2 inch

You can always build a wood case. Build the box and then saw it in two
I've got the same gun with a scope and it fits all my cases. What kind of scope did you put on it?
