Trade a 22 pistol for a 480 Puma, thought it would be cheaper to shoot with today's 22 ammo prices. I just got the Mihec 400 gr HP; any suggestions for around 900 fps load?

Are saying that you have a copy of the Winchester 92 in .480 Ruger?

Yes the Puma was a strengthened 92 that was chambered in 480 and 454 Casull. I don't think they are still made.

8-10grs of Unique is what I use for plinking load in my Ruger Super Redhawk. And no this is not a Winchester Puma. Puma was prior to Rossi/Braztech taking over. They were imported by Legacy.

Good morning
Have 2 caliber 45 Colt model 92's and the suggested 8-10 grains Unique with a 300 grainer is very pleasant to shoot so a 400 grainer will be just a little more thump on the shoulder. Realise that that heavy of a boolit it will put a real hurt on any intended target at any speed.
If you do a "Search" on the net for loading info there will be plenty available. Handloads.com is a OK place to get ideas.
