Howdy, Howdy. (Sorry, I couldn't resist that.) Welcome to our playground. When in doubt, I fall back on C.E. Harris' "good in almost any milsurp" load of 16.0 gr. 2400 and a boolit that is medium weight to heavy for the caliber. Your 150 gr. should qualify as a medium weight for the caliber. The only cast
7 X 57 load I use is 18.0 gr. 2400 with Lyman's discontinued #287308 168 gr.
Lyman calls this a maximum load. Velocity is 1850 in my 29" Chilean M1895 and accuracy is very good.

.............Hello and welcome to the board. The 7x57 is one of my favorite cartridges for cast. I like 21.0grs of H4198 + dacron and the RCBS 7mm-168. It's kind of my all-round load for several 7x57 rifles I have. However Curmudgeons mentioned load with 2400 has shot well in a few rifles for me, as have H4227 and SR4759.
I have used full caseloads of the slow 20mm cannon powder WC872 and it propels the slug (RCBS) at a bit over 2400 fps and the Lyman 150gr Loverin a bit over 2450 fps. This from a M98/08 Brazilian and a M1897 Remington RB. The range was 50 yards and accuracy was as good as any (unscaled slugs, thrown charges) of less then 1.5". Never have tried it at 100 yards, and I guess I should one of these days.
As a matter of fact, I shot the M98/08 Brazilian in our weekly match (offhand, iron sights) today. I used the 150gr Lyman and 21.0grs of a surplus powder from Graf & Sons called Tubal 2000. It's very similar to H4198. I managed to win the match with an 89-2X. That's 10 rounds at 50 yards.
