I had one in an under folder about 25 years ago.I paid $350 back then and shot it very little and it didn't impress me as being accurate with ball ammo but it was reliable. Now a buddy has one with the standard stock he wants to sell.It has three mags he claims it shoots 2.5 MOA with PMC ball.I am thinking about picking it up to play with cast in just for kicks.Does anybody here own one and have real experience. No opinions please i can Google "84s" and get that.

I've had two Norinco 223 AK's and a hungarin example . None impressed me with accuracy .And my very early Norinco AK in 223 had a bad habit of ejecting an empty into the top cover making a good jam for sure !. AK's are reliable bullet hoses from my experiance..nothing more nothing less.

My SAIGA 308 with cast shot under 2 MOA but that was a different dog.A fellow at our range shoots a Norinco Mac 90 with cast in 7.62 x 39 and it shoots pretty decent for him.
I mainly wonder if the 223 converts have problems in general compared to the original cambering.

Your opinion of the AK is like mine of the M1 carbine.

I owned one for several years and was never thrilled with its accuracy , its a typical AK mine would do around 2.5 to 3.5 MOA with M193 ball ammo. I will say if you are concerned with accuracy I would consider a VEPR over a 84s.
