Davenport 12ga single shot

Got this shotgun recently. Missing a little round cover on the right side and was wondering what it was. Here is a picture of same model shotgun with the round cover, mine is missing:

looks like an old iver johnson champion. if yer talkin' about the round flap at the pivot pin, it was popped up & used as a handle to unscrew the pin for take down. luck & have a good'en, bubba.
