Montana Precision Swaging Cast Bullets 38 Caliber (365 Diameter) 250 Grain Lead Straight Sided Paper Patch (Unpatched) Round Nose Cup Base Box of 50

I already have a box of these. They are about 7 BHN.

Can use a wood dial rod and a rubber mallet with this? Gun is 5" Smith and Wesson M&P.

Yes, would be a very expensive way to go, If you mean to slug the bore to get the diameter of the bore. On revolvers you need to remove the cylinder before you drive a lead slug down the barrel. Send me your address via pm and I will send you a couple of slugs you can use without the $30.00 plus cost . Bill

Yes I mean slug the bore to tell the diameter. Sorry for the wrong terminology. I am new. I already have these bullets but thanks for the generous offer.

If you use one of the bullets to slug the gun I would cut one in half first and lube it and the bore. Do you have a brass rod? I would not use the dowel. The rubber hammer might have to much bounce. Bill

I have a brass rod from a gun cleaning set or do I need one of a larger diameter. Good idea about cutting it. I will do that.

I found someone at work with a brass 5/16" squib rod. I am in business now. Thanks
