I am using ice water quenched wheel weights, from a lee 6 banger 124gr TC TL design. I've lubed the boolits with 45/45/10 and they look great. I've started doing experiments to check for case swaging of the boolit, and I dont see any real changes on the micrometer, just smearing of lube.
I have not sized these boolits, as they size at .357-.358 and my stock glock barrel slugged at .357 at its widest.
When seating to the lee recommendations for IMR 800x, 1.125 (1.5 tumble grooves showing) the breech fails to close entirely until I seat to ~1.07 at which point it requires a really light push to get it to drop into the chamber.
I see lots of people with the same boolit design seating at 1.15-1.16 and I'm kind of concerned. I will be working this load up from the minimum of 4.5 to a max of 5.0 carefully, and checking for leading every 15 rounds.
Whats the minimum OAL for a 9mm cast 124gr boolit for a glock stock barrel?
I also load for 38 spl, should I be using the 38 expander plug, or am I OK to stay with the 9mm expander? I feel like I'm crazy style flaring the mouth, it almost looks comical and I feel like I'm shortening the life of the brass as a result.
