I've used one of the BP lube recipes on the forum in a cookie sheet, and tried to make a cutter out of a piece of wood dowel, but it's not working well. Has anyone come up with something that would work better? I tried 1/2 copper pipe, but it's too big I.D. The minie ball casts at .500 from the Lee mold. Anybody ?

You should be able to get 0.50 ID brass tubing from a hobby store. It has pretty thin walls. Or get a .50-70 or .50 BMG empty shell, drill out the primer pocket for a punch and use that.

a once fired 500 S&W shell should be just perfect. drill out Primer pocket insert a nail and a small wooden handle on the other end ...and a spring if you want to get fancy.

I use afired unsized .50-70 case with a 3/8 hole drilled in case head.
