Anyone with a 250-260gr WFN LBT mold? Was thinking of ordering one and was hoping to get some opinions/pictures/results.

I have the NOE GB coming for a LFN approx 226gr coming but looking for something a little heavier to compliment it.

Opinion and suggestions appreciated.

I have a 240 grain WFN GC LBT mold. The bullets are very accurate in my S&W M57 Mountain Gun, 4-5/8" Blackhawk, and 4-1/4 FA M97. They must be sized 0.410" as the full diameter of the bullet extends into the chamber throat, probably contributing to accuracy. The only down side is extracting loaded ammo can be difficult.

That's good info. I've got a 411 and 410 sizer so should be good to go as far as experimentation goes with the boolits. Any issues as far as COAL? I run into that issue with the 265gr LFNGC boolits I loaded up from cast performance in my 1894 Marlin. Too long. That is the main driving force to split the difference. Perhaps in reality it's not needed and the 220gr class boolit is sufficient.

Hi Doc,

Length depends on your gun. My ammo is set to function in all of my 41 Rem Mag revolvers, the shortest of which is the M97. What revolvers are you going to use?

Take care, Tom

I have shot "Buffalo Bore" heavy .41mag 265g LWN in a 3" M657RB. The boolit looks very similar to the WFN LBT design. They are accurate but the front sight on the 3" is just a wee bit short to get good POI. It would probably be fine on the 4" and is fine on my 6" M57. I have the LBT LFN mold but not the WFN so I cannot compare directly.

I've got several. The revolvers aren't the issue. It's my Marlins. But to answer the question, I've got 2-M57's, 5 Blackhawks, 1 Redhawk. I have a Marlin CCL and a plain 94 in 41 Mag. Trying to find a LTDSS I can afford $2k+ is just too much. Always looking for others including Freesom Arms, special Smiths such as the M357, mountain gun, etc.

Hi Doc,

My WFN ammo will function in all of your guns. The nose length is set for an overall length that matches SAAMI spec. Veral can cut one for you. Also consider Accurate Molds #41-240K, my design, which also comes in with factory spec length. These barely enter the chamber throat, and unfired cartridges are not difficult to extract. Accuracy is excellent.
