Just ordered three molds from Midway. Two are Lee six-cavity molds, a 358-158 RF and a 358-148 WC. No problems with loading data or guns to shoot these bullets in, so don't need any real help there. I also bought an RCBS mold, a two cavity 45-325-FN-U. I don't have any experience loading for .45-70, I have a Marlin 1895. I am looking for a lighter bullet and load with less recoil, I have just had some neck surgery and want to limit the kick. Not planning on using this for anything beside fun shooting, paper punching and can rolling so how many deer I can shoot through is irrelevant.
Anybody use this bullet in .45-70, especially in a lever gun? Please share your comments pro and con. I have a good variety of powders to choose from, what works for you?
