Thought occurred I could use some pistol and rifle primers. Usual places have "out of stock" or "back ordered", Any body know where you can call in an order and actually expect to get some?.

The local Cabelas seems to have a good stock lately.

Oh, you can get them. It depends if you are willing to eat a couple hazmat charges as sites never seem to have everything you need.

Last time I looked both 3rd generation and mid south had all types in stock and natchez had some. Just hunt online and order a bunch to make it worthwhile with shippng and hazmat. Last couple of gunshows I went to had primers also.

Keep looking at Powder Valley every day. When they have em, pounce.

I got 25 K about 6 weeks ago.

Don't wait and think on it, they will be gone.

LGS has Win primers of all sizes, the large are priced lower than the small, guess he has a reason. Got a bunch of Tula SP from PV a few weeks ago.

I know you said "call in an order" but sometimes you can walk in too,
this is why it helps to know what area you are in.....

You do not list a location in your name block, so we really cannot advise.

Here in AZ, Big ASSPro Shop has tons of primers. All my local gun stores have them by the case. Cabbala's has them. Sportsman's Warehouse has them.......I just bought 4K of them last night there. The primer search 'round here is pretty much over.

Please edit your info to tell us approximately where you are so we can be more helpful.

good luck!

Yesterday I ordered primers (LR and SR at $34.95 per thousand) and powder (2400 and 4350) from Third Generation Shooters Supply...they had "bits and pieces" in stock and fortunately had just the things I was looking for so the $27 hazmat was spread way out...they have great shipping at a very low cost....don't know what might be left or what might have been added...just have to pick your way through their product lists.

If someone is charging you more for LR vs SR, they are ripping you off. All primers except shotgun primers are the same price everywhere I get them!

And SP & LP (std or mag) are the same price as rifles

Buyer Beware!!!!!!!

My retailer customers on the Olympic Peninsula seem to be at full stock on all magnum primers and a couple are at full stock of small rifle primers. small pistol and large rifles are yet a bit hard to find. Price is uniformly about $3.99 to $4.27 per hundred. I was surprised last week that the local Cabelas had no powder whatsoever of any kind.

Just because they are on the shelf together, doesn't mean they were bought, at the same time, or from the same source. There are lots of reasons why some are higher than others.
Just be happy the empty shelf syndrome is about over.

LGS has them in. Supply seems to have gotten better. Powder is still iffy. I can normally find 2400 at LGS; but had to get in on Powder Valley when the availability was posted two weeks ago.

Strangely enough Academy Sporting goods in Gulfport, MS has some. "Strangely" because they have no other reloading components.

My LGS has CCI, TULA and Federal in stock. But no powders. All $42/1000. But this isn't a big chain, it's an old mom-n-pop wooden general store that has a room in the back for gun stuff.

I have a gun store locally to me and they have tons of primers but only sell 500 at a time. I asked the guy why the limit and he said "so everyone can get some" I told him that he still had the same primers I saw the last few times I was in, not alot of people are into reloading in my area I guess.

I guess I will purchase them 500 at a time.... he has cases of them sitting on the shelves gathering dust.

I was surprised to find primers available at the Murdochs store for 39.99 a thousand. They have been available at the ammo store in the Bitterroot for 35.00 a thousand. limit of 2 if I remember. Same limit on .22 ammo at 40.00 a brick of 500.Haven't seen any at the big box stores. It looks like its better for us folks in Mt .

The HAZMAT sticker costs nothing, yet we pay $27.50 for them to stick in on your box.
HAZMAT is only needed if the order is OVER 50 pounds. Either than that its ORD-D.

Every online company is ripping you off.

Our local cabela's has more than I can buy now.

Besides I bought 6k boxes of primers when they were $79 a brick, and and Ord-D sticker was free.
