Does anybody have the specs for the die retaining nut for a LAM I? Or an extra nut I could buy or borrow? What is different between the LAM I and LAM II nuts?

A member wants to know if I could make a wrench and a couple spare nuts, apparently RCBS no longer has the nuts in stock. The wrench should be no problem but the nut is another story. Anybody know who else might make or have the nuts already? I really don't want to make a part if there are already parts available somewhere.

I just sent one to a member here. Unfortunately, I deleted the PM. I think it was Olvern?

Keith,

I use the LAM 1s. I can either measure up the nut or mail it to you.

If you can make accurate measurements that would be great! Apparently RCBS no longer stocks them. I might run a few up to keep in stock.

This is one of mine.

.936 across the flats of the hex nut.
.929 across the threads x 32 TPI.
.594 ID of the hole in the middle.
Nut is .365 tall.
Threaded section is .240 with of course a small relief between the threads and the hex section.
Hex nut is .125 tall.

This help?

Thanks Cat, I'll try and make up a CAD drawing this weekend and post it to see if I have it right.

.936 = 15/16" hex stock, that's the same hex size as the LAM II nut. Cool, I make nut drivers in that size already.

Yea Keith the nut driver you made me fits them just fine.
