I have a Winchester 94 angle eject in 307. I have had it since new in the early Eighties. Leupold 1.5 x 5. I like this rifle a lot however the trigger is lousy. Is there anything to be done?

Any good gunsmith (NOT some parts-changer) should be able to help - but if it has the rebounding hammer, there's not a lot that can be done w/o replacing the rebounding parts with earlier, non-rebounding ones.

Rebounding triggers can be smoothed up to a crisp 4 pounds or under by stoning and polishing. If you can't keep a steady angle working by hand you need to have it done by a pro. We just took a M 1886 down to 3 pounds crisp but that entailed changing and polishing springs.

Thanks for the replies. I'll take the trigger assembly apart and lap the parts.

I sent my AE 30-30 Pack Rifle off the a BR smith I located through the Precision Shooting Magazine in early 2000's and he kept the transfer bar working but set the trigger to a very smooth 2 pounds. Most pleased on this.
