View Full Version : will tin sinkers work in my alloys

A buddy gave me a bunch of eagle claw tin sinkers and i would like to know if i can use this in my alloys. thank you to all who reply.

Are you sure they are tin? Never knew they made tin ones. Tungsten ones but not tin???

they use tin for split shot sinkers.
the package says tin right on it.

Yeah, if it say's tin it must be. As long as you get them free otherwise its going to add up QUICK

Tin is tin. If you can get them cheap enough, they'll alloy fine.
I just can't see them as a finished product being cheaper than buying solder or scrap pewter.

but when you find a whole package of them on the bank of a lake it's still the best day fishing ever.

They are not cheaper than lead they are for the greenies to say they are lead free. You know good for the environment. I wonder if greenies know where lead comes from.

I have used them. they work fine. Little expensive but better than waiting on a truck when you have that last oit you want to cast and are out of tin. :shock:
