Wonder if anyone has any experience with one of these? My understanding is that the Enfield action is very strong and was used for many other caliber adaptions. Thanks in advance!

The Enfield action is as strong the Win 86 or Marlin 95.
The 303 British SAMMI is 48,000 psi.
The Enfield #4 as been converted to shot 308Win at 63,000 psi without fail.
Navy Arms and Gibbs merged - the original rifle was sold with a warranty - I don't know if transferable.

Glad to hear that I'm not the only one that would bring it home. Wife is going to ban me from Gunbroker when she's out of town from now on I'm sure... If I'm lucky it will arrive when she is out of town next :) I'm trying to attach a photo, let's see if it works.

Unless something is terribly wrong with it, I bet you will say "uncle" looooooong before it does. Curious about weight, about 7 1/2 ? Rock-n-Roll, enjoy! Gtek

darn that photo! Every time I say NO MORE I see a picture like this and I say if only............. or one in 444. I could use one more project. Hey, that does look like a swell rifle and the cartridge makes it all the better.

From the information I have been able to find this is really a Gibbs Summit, 8 1/2 pounds which should help with the recoil and make it quite enjoyable to shoot!

..............I have an article from an old "Rifle" magazine where a guy wanted to prove that a "Dangerous Game' rifle could have been built using the SMLE as a basis. So he converted one to take the 45-90 cartridge loaded with smokeless powder (using the original magazine). Some pretty eye watering and shoulder thumping ballistics. Another was altered to take the .444 Marlin.
