After I got in and cleaned up from my morning elk hunt, my buddy Danny and I went back out after a dandy antelope buck I have been seeing.
This was a fairly simple hunt, I had this buck located in the morning. We got back into the area and I found the buck laying on a side hill about 1/2 mile away. I got Danny on him and after about 30 seconds of looking at him through binos he said "We are taking him home today"
We made a quick stalk and Danny laid down prone and used his pack for a rest. On the first shot at a little over 300 yards he hit him just a little to far back. The buck trotted a little bit and stopped I told Danny to hit him again the second shot was centered and should have planted this buck. The buck took off and I kept eyes on him. The buck slowed down and his legs turned to jello and he tipped over. After several minutes and several high fives we went to get our hands on this buck. When we got to about 75 yards he picked his head up and I told Danny he needed to hit him again. The 3rd shot put him down for the count.
By far the widest antelope buck I have ever seen.

From tip to tip he is 17" wide, about 15" tall, 6" cutters, 8" at the bases....he should score well. We haven't put a tape on him to get a score yet just rough numbers.
Danny is a taxidermist, he didn't want to ruin the hide so he opted to pack out 1/2 of the buck whole so he can cape it out properly.

I took the rear quarters and some of the gear from his pack, I also carried his rifle for about 3/4 of the trip. We were able to get loaded up and washed up just as a storm was coming in.
Oh and the rifle....7mm Ultra Mag shooting 175gr scirocco. This isn't the first antelope I have seen that doesn't want to give up after being hit hard.
