I am well aware that Marlin chambered the Model 62 for the 256 WIN MAG and the 30 Carbine .

But today I was looking thru "Cartridges of the World" and under the part on the 22 Remington Jet , they claimed that Marlin chambered the Model 62 in the 22 Remington Jet caliber .

Has anyone heard about one of these or possibly seen one ?
I am wondering if this is like the deal with the Marlin 336ER that was "supposed" to be manufactured in the 307 WIN and 356 WIN but the only one that ever left the factory was the 356 WIN .

Here's some info that's worth just what you're paying for it.......The 1966 Shooter's Bible lists the Model 62 as being available in .256 and 22 Jet. No mention of the 30 carbine (which we all know was produced). Again, worth what? Evidence they 'planned" to issue in 22 Jet, I guess? Regards, Woody

Edited to add: For 1969 the Shooter's Bible lists the 62 as available in .30 U.S. Carbine only.

I keep an eye out for M62's; I have one of each in .30C and .256WM. The .256 is a mighty fine combination BTW!
I do not think they ever made any in .22 jet, might have planned it and never followed through.

6pt-Sika: In the archived articles at P.Kelly's leverguns.com. Under theading"Articles by contributing writers" You will see one titled"the Marlin levermatic" by John Malloy. It's the most comprehensive thing I've seen in a lot of years of looking re: these rifles....Enjoy, Onceabull :)

A friend of mine has a couple of these and has NEVER found one in Jet. Another friend is a gun library manager at Cabela's and he said if he ever sees one he is going to buy it and retire!
