Those are the lyman Proto-X bullets, they use a zinc washer, that is put into the mold before casting, rather than lube and/or a gas check

I thought they might be something like that...
I think I even have some of the washers, but I'm not sure what caliber they are...
Got bunches of stuff when I purchased a couple of large boxes of bullets/boolits/dies/etc/etc...

I used them MANY years ago.
It looks to me like I can see the zinc washer on the bullet at the upper left.

So you think they might have the washers on them already?...
Guess the washer goes in the mold and the Pb is poured around it?...
I will tear one down tomorrow just out of curiosity...
