with my 300AAC hog gun I built.
used a NOE 311247 boolit that weighed 240 with Lube and GC (Lube may be an unnecessary mess tho) at 1050FPS
CMMG 300 AAC Blk upper 1 in 8 twist, ATN Aries MK350 Nightvision scope, HTG M-30A can. Gun sighted in at 50yds
Shot a sow ~90# at 100yds Dropped her and she squealed when I went up to her. Missed the other one (Twice the size) at 150.
Did hit my Landlady's lowboy trailer30yds on the other side of the pig. Not sure the bullet slowed down but all it did to her trailer was a splatter, no dent or nothing. She was just glad to have 1 less hog tearing up her yard. I had my concerns when she asked me to but she said as long as I don't hit her truck, cadillac, or house don't worry about hitting anything as long as I got a hog.

Nice shot man! Be sure the fire is low and slow when you cook that critter.

Head shot or body shot?
Body Shot. Last pig I shot with it taught me head shots aren't the best with that caliber after I shot it 3 times between the eyes and then had to shoot her 5 more times in the head with my 45acp

Very nice, nothing like doing it with something you assembled....Hope to get another chance this coming saturday. And it will be with one of my CBs.

Shoot the cross between the eyes and the ears. Brain may not be where you think it is. Cross section a skull or two and check out your bullets performance.

Different kind of CB, but I disagree about the effectiveness of head shots on pigs. One shot each and nothing extraordinary to report. Pop'n flop.

I have taken a number of hogs using cast from a 300blk including 2 head shots. DRT was the result for both. Shot placement is critical and not always easy to achieve especially at dusk. Most of my hogs were shot inside of 50 yards from a blind from a rest and I take the opportunities presented.

I have seen hogs hit by 45-70 in the head with non-lethal outcome so it is not the caliber that was at fault but placement.

Greetings lksmith and well done !
Shot my 300 ACC upper last time up that I bought from a member here. Also bought the 247 grainer caliber 30. Was wondering how long before the piggies started showing up with the results.

Came out about 9:30.
The way I've been doing it is me or my neighbor walk out and look up in her yard. and if he sees them he calls me and I break out the piggie popper
