Just thought i should post this.I just started shooting this little boolit in my model 14 smith.
I cant beleave just how tight this thing shoots. So many groups below an inch@ 25 yards, that these sub inch groups are now expected!!!! I never thought i could find consistant accuracy from a handgun, and then along came this boolit. So amazed with this thing, that i thought i should share.

About 700-725 f.p.s. seems to be the sweet spot, with 50-50 alloy. Also, the mold is one of the new style 2 cavities, and drops a pretty near perfect .3585 boolit, weighing 108 grs with my alloy.Cant wait until the 6 cavity ever becomes available again......

Only bad part of this little boolit,,its very hard to get ya fingers on its nose, when pulling out of the lube-sizer,just aint enough lead to get ahold of,,,annoying, but as good as it shoots,i can deal with it!

Suppose we should throw in a witness as well?

I have a DC Lee 90316...a lot of fun to shoot in the .38 Spl with 4.0 grains of Promo or Bullseye. I use a small tuft of fiber fill over the powder. An excellent plinking bullet and you get about 64 to the pound.

In the six cavity mold it might be tricky to cast well...in a DC you fill and almost immediately dump the bullets..no real cool down needed.

Yup, great little boolit that Lee 105 gr SWC. They are a little bit hard to grab in the lubesizer but fun to shoot and almost no recoil. I've loaded quite a few for a friends wife in her snubbie for practice. I've also shot a lot of them in my Rossi 4 inch target revolver. Nice groups.

I place a close pin below the lubesizers push rod, which raises the little slug up enough to grab it easier.

Currently only using these 358-105-SWC in 9mm sized at .356, until I finish shooting up a bunch of 358-158-RF loaded for 38spl.

I got a Lee 6 cavity for this boolet to use in 9mm. I've only done a couple of hundred and used them unsized and tumble lubed. Worked great in a couple of Ruger 9's. I can't comment on accuracy since I'm not that great a shooter but there was no leading. I'm going to have to try it in .38 spec. soon. Hopefully, it will work as well there.

That Lee 158 RNF (90303) is a excellent bullet in the .38 Spl and .357 Magnum. Great for the Marlin 1894C as well. The Lee 105 is an ideal plinking bullet in the 9mm Luger & .38 Special for those interested is saving lead. It's "bigger brother" 140 SWC (90318) is also excellent for those that insist on a heavier bullet. It is superbly accurate for me in my . 357 Magnum pistols.

"Only bad part of this little boolit,,its very hard to get ya fingers on its nose, when pulling out of the lube-sizer"

I bought some steel rod at the hardware store and made slightly longer push rod for short bullets. The clothes pin idea by RobsTV seems simpler if it gets you the height you need.

I too have this mold in 2-cavity (bought in the '80's). I've used it in .38 spl and .380 ACP with great success. It is just an easy bullet to get to shoot good.

From what a gather, this mold has been around a long while? Cant beleave there not more mention of it.Then again, maybe its just my old 14 thats is in love with them.Gonna try them next in a friends model 15,and see how they shoot.

My 14 is the 8 3/8 barreled gun,so it is fairly heavy. ive found 2.8 grs of clays powder, with this boolit, does just about an even 600 f.p.s.,,and i swear ive shot 22 lr handguns, that had more recoil!!
BTW, that 2.8 gr clays load will shoot just a tad over .5 inch groups

Some day i need to try it at 50 yards, and see how that goes...

I use these in 9mm, 380 and 38spl. A dandy little boolit for plinking at tin cans, and accurate. For 38, I just tumble lube and load. No need for sizing.

Love the little Lee 105! Have an old double cavity, casts fast and drops easily. Great shooter over 2.5-3.0 gr Bullseye. Tim

In 1976 I bought a Lee single cavity mold for the 105 SWC..with ten pounds of lead in my production pot..sure took a long time to use it all up casting them...I now have a double cavity. Seems this bullet casts big. When sized down to .358" not much left of the small grease groove. I now size with a .359" sizer.

When people bash LEE I think of this mold, Out of all my molds (includes several customs) this one has always been a favorite to cast with. They shoot very well out of everything I have tried them in from 1-7/8" J-Frames to 8-3/8" M-14.

my mold drops at .3585 with 50-50 alloy,,its new style,,so maybe they make them smaller now??

Excellent results with that boolit for me in the .38/.357. It doesn't cycle the 9mm reliably. other thatn that, if I rack the slide, it is accurate in the 9mm.

I have many 38 Special and 357 Mag. revolvers. They have always shot the Lee 105 gr. SWC very well.

I recently purchased a Marlin 1894 , CBC, 38 Special lever action rifle.

I had a Lee , 2 cav. 105 SWC mold on hand and cast about 200 bullets that I tried in the rifle. The rifle shot the Lee 105 SWC so well that I decided that I needed to get the Lee 6 cavity mold in the 105 SWC.

This is about my 8th or 9th Lee 6 cav.mold. Every one of them are a joy to use.

I cast these bullets today ( in about 35 - 40 minutes ) after the mold was 101% clean and up to temp and HOT !

You can see that my rifle really likes the 105 SWC, sized to .3585 ". This is a group fired with Russian Unique at 50 yards with my Marlin 1894 CBC , my particular rifle has Ballard style rifling, not micro- groove rifling :

I have a 2 cavity and load them deep seated in 38spl cases (projectile nose about 2mm below the case mouth)
Loaded with AP-50, an Australian made powder similar in burning rate to HP-38, all loads tested from 2.0-3.0gr produced 10 shot groups at 25m under 2". Velocity ranged from just over 600fps for 2.0gr to about 950fps for 3.0gr
I settled on 2.0gr for paper punching.
Tried them in my 9mm and couldn't get them to stay on the 2' square backing target at 25m, the gun has no trouble keeping under 4" at the same distance with 124con so obviously just does not like them.

Have had a 6 cav on order with the Aus importers for about 6 months don't know when I will see it.
If the link works here is a 10 shot group with 2.5gr at 25m (27.34y) from a 686
