I am using the 68104 roll which was shown on You-tube video:

Using Pat's checkmaker to make Aluminum gas checks from .014" thick Amerimax # 68104 Aluminum Roll Valley Flashing 4" X 50'

I could purchase wider rolls at:
http://www.amerimax.com/catalog.html
Roll Valley Flashing
Size Standard
(.014")
4"X50' 68104
6"X50' 68106
8"X50' 68108
10"X50' 68110
12"X50' 68112
14"X50' 68114
16"X50' 68116
20"X50' 68120
24"X50' 68124
28"X50' 68128

My paper cutter can cut up to 12" wide rolls.
12" wide would give me 1/3 the number of strips cut than 4" wide which I have now.

Has any tried the wider rolls? and how did it work?
What caliber and brand of gas check maker did you use?

I use 14",16" 20" amerimax. What ever is on sale. Put the metal out on some saw horses laid down on some 2x4's. Snap some lines with a chalk box ,cut the metal with a jig saw the size that will fit on my 18" paper cuter to cut up squares of metal for storage. We have found 24'" long strips works best for us. We also use a metal slitter for the long pieces.

Treekiller,

Good idea. I cut off a 9" piece and it worked fine.
I will want to purchase wider rolls of flashing next time.

Sssssoooooooo,,,,,,,,,,,,. You punch out one GC and cut the end square, and then go again, right? :bigsmyl2:

I make my own GC tools that are slotted on one side so you slide any width you want into the side , pull the handle and out pops a GC. Then move it far enough to clear that hole and hit the handle again. When finished with a row of holes, I just trim the punched out part off the end with tin snips and star over.
