I made one of my best shots yesterday, and it was while shooting cast boolits! I was using the Remington US Model 1903 30-06 and the Lee 180gr RN cast load; which I also use in my Howa 1500, with similar precision.

I was shooting a 2.5 inch circle at 250 yards.

Hit it almost dead center.

I had taken the same shot the day before and missed it ever so slightly.

That missed less than an inch.

Here is a YouTube 1:50 video of the shot that hit.

I really didn't expect cast bullets to be as precise as jacketed bullets. I mainly switched because of the cost, thinking I'd have to sacrifice precision; the only sacrifice seems to be speed.

I am really stoked about the precision of these boolits!

"I really didn't expect cast bullets to be as precise as jacketed bullets."

Can't argue with that combination.

I to am finding that cast boolits take care of the great majority of my shooting needs. If I can keep minute of blackbird at 100 yards and minute of crow at 200 I'm very happy. I can live with the occasional flyer. I've always got copper for long range shooting but that isn't very often. Cast is cheap, fun and very rewarding. Thanks to all of you for all the help....Floyd

Same here; I only have 2 firearms that don't use cast well, and both problems are problems with the firearms. I still need to try paper patching in one.

Great shot there and one to be proud of for sure. Most consider doing something once to be a fluke, but you obviously have repeated the effort so no fluke here.

You give me great hope for when I start up on my rifles. I have a couple or more O3A3's that I plan on working cast into. If they shoot the cast even half as good as they do their copper clad counterparts, I will be putting some hogs in Heaven for sure. (Well something like that anyway.)

I was surprised how well this rifle shot when I first got it.

Using cast bullets hasn't made a difference in it's precision.

Thank you!
