I just scored 400 pieces of new WW 45 Colt brass, factory primed , a wee bit tarnished but in excellent condition. Is there anything to be aware of with the crimped brass ? Is it for a specific use. I will be loading it with 255 gr. RCBS Keith cast lead boolits and target loads(750-800 fps) various powders,Auto Comp, Clays ect.

I don't know what the crimp is for. it is no problem though. it will work out with a few firings. most of the w-w brass has a crimp. .44 mag and .45-70 comes to mind. I have even seen it on .38 spl.

I suspect you are talking about the canalure (sp) that is rolled into the case to keep the bullet from being shoved down into the case too far. It will do no harm. Just load and shoot.

You can ignore the cannelure, it makes no difference.
