Today, I got out my new 460 Collarbutton mold and made a few for the .45-70 :grin:
I just used 50/50 Coww/pure with 3% pewter for these. It was a bit much of tin, but that's what was in the pot from pouring some sharp edged .357s earlier, and that was because that's what size pewter mug I had and I was too lazy to cut it up. I tried to keep the pot close to 700-730 for these. It's pretty tough to keep adjusting that little knob when juggling a thermometer, a ladle, and a hot 4cav mold.

And the product.... I think it makes a pretty nifty boolit.
I don't know how they shoot, but they are pretty fun to pour. :lovebooli
