JFYI this new lot of (500 pieces) Starline 357 Magnum brass is verygood. Much better than my other lots of Winchester and Remington brass. 45% measured under .001" case wall runout. 50% measured between .001-.002 case wall runout. Only about 5% measured between .002-.003". Overall case wall thickness measures .011". Case length is 1.280"

StarLine makes good brass.

I have tried several rifle and handgun cartridges.

Impressive, but can you say OCD? Is there enough difference in accuracy to warrant all that measuring?
BTW, is that a pewter mug to the left there? :-o

Wow, if I did that with all the brass I have I'd never do any loading or shooting ... just measuring. When it come to the handgun cartridges I load, the most I've done in 40+ years is clean them. Long time ago I did trim a few handgun cases but that stopped about the same time I stopped cleaning primer pockets. Once I moved to my first Dillon press doing either just slowed things down and never seemed to make any difference anyway.

I got hooked on starline brass 20 years ago with a DW 445 SM revolver. I am glad to hear this about the SL 357 brass as I just found it in stock at midway last week, 200 should be here Tuesday. Tired of having to shoot nothing but 38 special in my new to me rugah security six.

Midway is where i purchased...just received it yesterday...then measured for curiosity of brass quality. The primer flash holes are also more uniform with no burrs. I will sell all brass that measures outside of .001" to people like ku4hx

I don't worry about my pistol brass to that degree, used to for most of my rifle brass, not so much anymore. Got my brass today, figured they would be out quick, I just happened to catch it in stock.

I`m like gear when I buy , it`s Starline !

In the past I have purchased lots of 1K that needed O trimmin & with the tools I have measured the necks & they be very consistent (within .002")

357 & 44 brass.

My question is aren't you going to resize the brass anyway when you reload it?
Why are you buying from Midway when you can buy direct from Starline?

Can you explain to me how 2 thousands (.002) difference will effect anything in a handgun case?

I didn't stay in a Holiday Inn express last night, and I admit that I may not be the brightest bulb in the bunch some times but I have loaded thousands of new starline (thats NEVER FIRED) brass.
I do know that some brass (45 colt for example) are harder to resize the first time loading then other new starline brass is. 41 mag brass is easy.
Again this is NEW unfired brass.

Two years ago I bought a bag of Starline brass and a bag of Mag-tech in 45LC. Same load and bullet used in both. I may have just gotten a bad lot. However I am still shooting and loading the Starline and have very little of the Mag-Tech. I am sold on the Starline. Its getting hard to find it in stock. I tried to order some 44 Mag from Starline about a month back and 44 was one of the cases you could not back order.

I just got a thousand 44 Mag Brass from Starline direct. A lot of times the site told me Not Available/No Backorder then one night it was available for backorder and I jumped on it. Delivered in like 2 weeks. Went back to check and 44 Mag was back to NA/NB. Just keep checking.

I don't check runnout but case length was +/- .001". Remington and Winchester have been about +/- .0025".
