I got out to the range today with my Ruger 45LC to try out the Lee 45 cal 255 gr FN bullet cast from straight WW. I used 9 gr Unique and was pleased with the acccuracy. Think I will take this pistol deer hunting in close woods this year.

That's a great bullet and load out of a ruger. I've had good luck out of that and also 9.0 of ww231. Groups seemed to shrink when I went from cci 350s to federal 150s. Around where we live I've never had a problem with the federal primers setting off ww296 in the winter.

I'm a big fan of that boolit in my 45 Colt Blackhawk.

I have the same gun, and i shot it with the same boolit at the range this weekend. I used 17 grains of 2400. The pressure was still low enough to get sooty cases, but the accuracy at 100 yards was decent, and there was no leading. I'll have to try it with 18 grains of 2400 next time.

I took a chrono out to the range today to check the velocity of my load and I was suprised. Average Vel was 1099, low was 1086 and high was 1127. Going to be my deer hunting pistola this year.

I shoot that boolit in my snubbie 45 Colt 3.75" Sheriffs model Vaquero with good results. I use the fastest powder I have (AA Solo-1000) to keep from having sooty cases with pleasant to shoot velocities.

A friend has shot many of these boolits in his 1911 and feels it to be the ultimate boolit for a 45 ACP though I have yet to try it in my '43 GI Colt mfg 1911-A1, I feed it with 230 gr. lrn's just out of respect!

I recently got one of the 200 grain versions of that boolit and I hope to find it as goos as it's heavier brother.
