this may sound like a silly question, but I've noticed on my lead bullets coming out of the point forming die, there is an extremely thin "tail" of lead coming off of one side of the bullets base. it comes off easily with just a quick rub on a towel and doesn't effect the accuracy, but i'm wondering is this just from wear on the dies? and how long will dies last before they need replacing?

i think somone on here quoted Corbin as saying his dies are good for 10s of thousdands, like 50,000 or so...

depends on the materials used, quaility of the heat treating, etc. as to how long the dies last...

okay, I did the check, doesn't look like there is a raised edge. and the tail moved with the punch. thanks very much!
