I have a large selection of Tom's brass molds but I just picked up my very first aluminum version !
It is a 5-cavity 360135L I had him draw up for my S&W .38/44 Outdoorsman revolvers. It is a beauty ! :) :)

Outstanding craftsmanship as usual ! BUT it did take almost 10 full days to get it to me from the time the drawing was completed ! ;) ;)

I just got my very first new-fangled cell phone. These things take pretty damn good photos that are easy to post! :) This texting stuff is amazing ! :)

Nice boolit shape profile, how wide is the meplat? Congrats on the new cell phone.

Lefty:

Meplat is 0.23".

Never had a cell phone before so starting off with a smart phone has been "interesting" for an old guy ! :)
Luckily the grand-kids are experts !

10 days! I can't believe you had to wait so long. I would be so mad I would be ranting on every forum there is about the horrible delivery time. Come on, he told you it would be 4 weeks! and it shows up in 10 days! :kidding::kidding:

Tom's aluminum molds are nothing to laugh at. They are every bit as good as his brass molds. I own a few of his brass ones, and I have my second aluminum from him.

The brass is nice because of how long they hold the temp, but the aluminum is nice because of how light they are. His blocks are big enough that they still hold temps really well though.

That is a great looking mold. The custom mold makers we have to choose from are out standing, the hardest decision after figuring out what you want in a boolit, is choosing a mold maker.

Another masterpiece mould, and a fine design, too, Jerry. I'm looking for one just like that in .358" and about 20 grains heavier, I might get Tom to add some parallel length in front of the crimp groove and keep all else the same, unless of course you copyrighted that design :bigsmyl2:

I like that design, looks like it would be a fine black powder cartridge candidate.

Looks like a work of art. What is the purpose of the hole in the sprue plate?

fred:

Not positive on the hole but would bet it is to hold the plate on a fixture during machining.

The 360135L is just a modification of another design to fit my own .38/44 revolvers.

This is one of the great benefits of Accurate Molds. You take a design from the existing catalog and ask Tom to tweak it a bit to fit your needs (wants) ! A couple weeks later it is sitting on your bench ! :)
