Hi Guys,

I am nearing the beginning of a rifle project and have long been planning on using a pacnor barrel. Now I am re-evaluating that plan having seen this service:

http://www.cutrifle.com/reboring.html

Which looks viable. This gentleman owns the reamer in the cartridge I am interested in and the cost is significantly lower than a new barrel. Looks like if he messes up my barrel he offers a new one at a discounted price. If I price a new barrel there, with a very modest discount it'll equal the cost of a pacnor anyways.

Has anyone used this gentleman's services? Is Dan Pedersen a good guy?

I cannot comment on Dan Pederson, I can recoomend Jesse at JES reboring. He has done one rifle for me and I bought another he had done before I bought it. TOP NOTCH and a good guy to deal with....I am looking for a 86 or Marlin 1895 for him to rebore to 50 alaskan for me.

I second JES. Decent price and fast turn around.

JES is A +.

I own 3 ea. 35 cal. rifles that JES has rebored.

I've shot two others owned by other people.

That's 5 in total .

They are all " nail drivers ".

Dan is good people. Another one that does good rebores is Delta gunsmithing.

Since posting this thread, I've learned more about Dan Pedersen. I may have to go with him no matter what. He was apparently the colleague of Fred Wells. The cartridge I want to rebore to is 510 Wells Express.

Seems fitting.

Good morning
Have 4 barrels done by JES that are great shooters. Another (375 Whelen) awaits my arrivival next year to get warmed up. All mine are caliber 375 and larger bore so I cannot comment on smaller bores. But JES is batting 1.000 for me.
Had to do some research on that 510 Wells. That looks to me to be a supreme rampaging Toyota Stopper ! A 600 grainer at 2400 fps would ceratinly get any beasties attention fast. The real plus I see is available quality brass, ease of case forming and the readily available well made CZ action caliber 416 rifles to rebore. Sounds like a worthy and interesting project.
