Well I am not sure where to put this so.....

Several weeks back I bought 500+ lb of raw WW's and got 300+ lb already in 20 lb ingots

Well the kids that made the WW ingots , just melted all the WW's
Never sorting them
So no one was interested in the ingots
I paid $ .10 a lb for the ingots ( same as the scrap yard offered )

So today a friend and I used a bunch of the bad WW ingots
In a old pot & ladle

We casted duck & goose decoy anchors
8 oz for the duck and 16 oz for the goose

Maybe not the only use for this alloy
But it had a good amount of zink in it , so it wasn't going into any of my molds

So I am looking at 50 Goose and 100 duck anchors
And when we cast up the rest of the alloy
They are also already sold

So just a thought , when you find you have a batch of WW alloy with Zink in it

That is a good solution. Zinc/lead alloy and water "activities" work well together.

if you remelt at a low temp could the zink be skimed out?

When you smelt, everything lead melts first. 630˚ +or-. Zinc will float on the top of the melt. Removal the zinc wheel weights is easy at this point. If you leave them in, they will melt as soon as you get to around 780˚ don't let it get that hot. There are a lot more zinc WW in what i collect, and they have been harder for me to get.

Go Kart racers would probably be able to use it to. Looks like they use old cup cake pans. I don't use the stuff as I make weight naturaly.
