Title says it all, a recently posted group with a 311365 made me thinking I'd try this bullet again, in my M1A, just faster.
AA lists their 5744 with a 200 ???? at a Max of 2125 / 38000 psi

Then 2000 fps should be very doable. However with the long sloping unsupported nose and scraper groove accuracy may be hard to find. Suggest slower powders such as RL19, AA4350 or H4831SC.

311299 should be your boolit at 1800-2100. Nose diameter should BARELY touch the lands during feeding from magazine at most for positive feeding, and at minimum for utmost accuracy. ... felix

Larry, after pur PM's I marked a 311365 in a 30 cal bbl from the muzzle for rifling contact and thus length of bearing surface. I came up with 63.9 % of OAL in contact with the riflings, My 311299 has 67 % and the RCBS 200 has 71 %
Felix, I agree, and my 1600-1700 FPS loads prove the 311299 is better. I'm giving the 311365 molds a few more chances to shine before I decide to trade or sell them
Only cast bullets that are accurate at 100 yds and beyond are interesting
