Need one a bit bigger for my Ishapore 303 and ex-dragoon 91/30. Both are right around 314. My Lee 312-185 will slide right down the bore of either one until the driving bands touch. Oddly enough, I got a 3" group at 100 yards with this bullet today in the 303. Both bores are sharp, just a little bigger than normal. I see Lyman has a 314 but I see nothing from RCBS or Lee I that size. I plan to browse Accurate's molds tonight.

Why not ask this question on the board specifically about moulds? Those folks don't always come over here looking at hand tools. Just sayin'...

Check out NOE and Mihec moulds. Both make 0.314" +. I bought the NOE 316299 (0.316"), 0.314" x 129 gr. (0.314" lapped to 0.316") and the Mihec 316410 (0.316" version of Lyman's 311410) for my .303's which are partial to 0.315" boolits.

They all shoot well.

I thought I had. Oops. If someone can move this, that would be great.

jmortimer is right! I left out Accurate Molds. Tom will make what you want to the size you want. Excellent service and excellent moulds!

"...you can never go wrong there." is right on!

Aren't the Ishapore Enfields chambered in 308?

Not the older ones. Mine is a 1949 RFI.

I also have a Mosin that needs a larger boolit. Since I coat my boolits with Hi-Tek lube/coating I just make it a little thicker than normal. The Red Copper can add .001" to the boolit easily per coat. It has alot of solids in it to help with rifle loads.
With it I can shoot the Lyman 45gr RN boolit in my 223 at 3,465 fps with no leading and decent accuracy.

Have hollowpointmoldservice add a .306 drive band to the nose and open drive band's up on you mold to .316.

HM˛ 30/31 cal 160gr 6 CAV - Ed Harris Design

Recent run of moulds in .312, .316, and .325. Last post said he had a few of each left. Still waiting for my .325, but the others are really nice. Make purty, round boolits. :-D

Placed an order with Accurate last night. Got the 31-200L. Wait time can be used to smelt a big pot to feed that big a$$ mold.

Order a Lee 170gr RN 8mm Mold and then resize to .314 with a LEE Push-through sizer. Worked wonders for my Type 99 7.7mm Arisaka and my wore out No4 mk1 Enfield without breaking the bank.

I tried that with the lee 175 grain 323 mold but I ended up with a nearly solid bullet. Nose was same width as the bands. Decided that was too hard to seat. That mold I had opened up to 326 though.

My LEE 8mm mold drops out at .324 with my potluck alloy.

Iron sights: Let me know how those shoot... I was looking at the same mold. I'd been thinking of getting it in .316 and sizing it down as needed. I've got a few mosins around here and Enfields that it'd be nice to cast for. My stash of fancy 54r Lapua brass is getting lonely!

If anyone else is in the same boat as OIS, you may also want to look at this site: http://www.castbulletengineering.com/

Got the mold in and finally got to shoot a few rounds in the no1mk3. I was a little disappointed in that the nose makes little contact with the lands. I must have been off on my measurements or I just missed it. Anyway, they still shoot pretty good but I have more testing to do. I can always use this mold for my other mosins so I'll probably keep it. I ordered the larger al block and so far it casts really smooth. Takes a long time to heat up.
