I poured some bullets today .577 500 grain....I've been looking for IMR4759 but I have had any luck...is anyone loading 2 3/4 hulls I got a rifled gun so I need 1500fps......I've got blue/red/and green dot powder, I got a 1100 that shoots 2 3/4 shells.......on a 2nd note after getting ed's sabots I got a mossburg 500 to shoot 3 inch shells its got a rifled barrel too I haven't got any 3 inch hulls because I was waiting to find the IMR4759, but if anyones using something different than imr powder that I could find that would help me too thanks ed80740

According to Mr.Hubel's own online data, there isnt much w his sabots and a 500gr slug. Ive read most all his "FH" posts on several forums scrounging for load data, so maybe I missed it. But here's some that might help:
In plastic 3" cases, 75gr imr 4759 gives 1550fps w a 440gr slug in his sabot.
40-50gr Alliant Steel w magnum/fed 209A/fiocchi 616 primer can be used; w estimates of velocity based on 45gr Steel = 1555fps with a 610gr slug.
He also lists a maximum charge of 49gr Steel for his sabot w a 510gr slug in 3" RMC brass cases.
All loads include a good gas seal, and felt cushion wads.
Not sure how far this can take you given your constraints of a 2.75" case and 500gr slug, though.
Sorry.
Maybe Mr. Ed himself will chime in to help.

Still best to use the 3" cases in rifled barrel.
If you can't find 4759 you can try Alliant
Steel powder with plastic seal, felt wad.
Allows room for more cushioning wads.
Start with 42gr Steel with 500 gr slug in sabot.
Go to about 50 gr.

If it has right diameter barrel and narrower
lands like Nef and Savage it should group ok.
Primed 3" cases from BPI 14-15 bucks a hundred.Ed

Powder Valley has 4759, 8lb jugs though. 4756 might work also. IMO, it will be hard getting to 1500 fps with red, close with green if you can get into the mid 20's (grs) (I pushed a 1 oz lee about 1500 with green), blue dot in the starting in the mid 40's should get you close, but a hot primer should be used. I've seen steel and 800x availabe online too. That looks like a good looking boolit for the Hubel Super Sabot. I can't remember at the moment from reading old threads back years ago, but has anybody tried any of the .410 powders like lil gun, 410, 20/28 for launching these big hunks of lead from balls, conicals, full bore, lyman, and lees.

A little bit.
880gr hardcast lead slug, 3" federal cases, 209A primers,47gr Lil'Gun = 13.6Kpsi @ 1320fps

"I got everything else except the hulls I'll order 1x fired next payday"

I always start with the 3" primed hulls from Ballistic products and then make my own "1x fired"
2 3/4" hulls. Makes sense to me for around $15.00 per hundred and no Hazmat Fees for primed hulls/brass.

Hello Elite Musketeer Brother JmorTimer, the Fiocchi Brown high brass 16mm, 12 ga primed hulls from BPI go for $8.95 for 100 on special, they are good hulls and I like them a lot, they even had darker green Fiocchi Tundra primed hulls on special with 25 mm high brass on special not too long ago.

I always carry Fed. 209A, CCI 209M, Fed.209 and Fio.616 primers and switch to what ever I need for the load,
I'm noticing a new kid on the block a newer primer that is marked in green in those Federal hulls, not knowing how hot they are, did load and fire a few test shots and they worked out fine!

I'm proud to be a Elite Musketeer, among other Elite Musketeer's here.

Best regards,
Ajay

You and I are on the same page, just got 500 a couple weeks ago.

Will be praying you find the perfect land/range. I have experienced living on land where I could stick my arm out the front door and fire away and having a dedicate range. I will again but you first. God Bless

I say try it or get the power skiver from Ballistic Products to "soften" hull up. I doubt you will have any problem crimping with your Load All.
