I have had this Marlin 336 in 35 Remington rifle not a carbine for years. I have tried to get it to shoot cast boolits for years with very little success. So I got this 38-55 and like some here have said they will shoot just about anything cast fairly easily. Mine has too, I settled on SR 4759 powder and like it. So, today I was looking at the old 336, Ballard style rifling, and thought, maybe my old Lyman book for cast will have a load for the 200 gr. 358315 boolit with SR4759. It did, 22 grs. well I'm shooting 21 grs in the 38-55 so I thought why not try it in the 35 Rem. Eureka, what you know it shoots good in the 336. Life is good. Now I need to find a mold for the 6.5 Swede, 150 grs. plus, it shoots the 160 gr. "J" words like no ones business!

This is good to know. I'm just starting a load for a 35-30 and gave a bit of SR4759. 200gr-ers are on the menu.

Funny, my 336 35 Remmy didn't like the 358315 boolit with my "normal" powder. I wonder if the it would have done better with the SR 4759?

Mine likes RL7 under a RD 359-190, thinking it will like LVR as well. RL7 seems to be my go-to powder for catridges in this class. She's a carbine with Micro-Groove tho, probably a whole different animal. Btroj is right, I learned quite awhile back that rifles quite often have a personality.

Well Lead Free Judge not less Ye be judged! I don't comment on anything but cast boolits here when any person writes a comment. Please don't try to school me on God. I quit going to church because of people who are hyper critical. I was hoping for positive feed back on my load not my choice of spelling. Thank you anyway.
